With an abundance of largemouth, white, and hybrid striped bass, bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, and rough fish, you are sure to get a bite!
Ben Hawes State Park

Golf is the name of the game at Ben Hawes in Owensboro, Kentucky's third-largest city, but visitors find a host of other recreation options at this 300-acre park. Your family or group will appreciate the large well-tended picnic shelter with restrooms and playground near the entrance to the park. The shelter can be reserved by renting up to a year in advance. Open year-round. $ for shelter rental.
Big Bone Lick State Park

A 7.5-acre lake contains largemouth bass, bluegill, and catfish for bank fishing. A Kentucky fishing license is required. Year-round.
Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park

Enjoy the great outdoors year-round at the campground, featuring 51 campsites with utility hookups and a central service building with showers and rest rooms. Water hook-ups only available April-October.
Boone Station State Historic Site

After seeing the site and reading the historic markers, visitors can picnic on one of the several picnic tables on the site's 46 acres.
Breaks Interstate Park

Breaks Interstate Park, on the Kentucky-Virginia border, features the largest canyon east of the Mississippi-5 miles long, 1,600 feet deep and 250 million years old! Sometimes called the "Grand Canyon of the South," the gorge was carved by the Russell Fork River, a tributary of the Big Sandy. Pedal boats are available for rent by the hour or half-hour. The park embraces 12-acre Laurel Lake, which is stocked with bass and bluegill. Only electric motorboats allowed.For the serious boater, whitewater rafting is available on the Russell Fork River. Rafting depends upon releases from the reservoir.
Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park

You can cast away your cares at Buckhorn Lake! The lake is home to largemouth and Kentucky bass, crappie, bluegill, channel catfish, and muskie.Water sports enthusiasts will find entertainment on Buckhorn Lake. The marina has 95 open slips, two launching ramps, rental pontoon boats, and fishing boats.
Carr Creek State Park

Pleasure boaters and anglers can explore the 750-acre lake with miles of shoreline, and good bass, crappie and walleye fishing.
Carter Caves State Resort Park

Smokey Valley Lake is Kentucky's first and only trophy bass lake! In addition to largemouth bass, anglers vie for bluegill, catfish, and crappie. Fishing license required.

Campers relax amid beautiful settings on the river cliff campground. The campground has 38 sites with utility hookups and grills. A central service building offers rest rooms, showers, and laundry facilities.
